What is Bike On NZ?
Bike On NZ is a not-for-profit organisation started by Paul McArdle and Meg Frater in November 2009. Their aim is to help enable and assist more New Zealander's to experience the “joy of biking”. This is being achieved by launching a series of non-profit projects that will help encourage people to bike more.
Why is Bike On NZ doing this?
Since returning to NZ in September 2009, Paul and Meg have been interested in a number of major challenges (eg health, education, and the environment etc) facing NZ. Their experiences from living and working in Europe has been that many of these issues can be helped or mitigated through greater use of bikes.
Many countries are presently investing vast sums of money to encourage their populations to bike more because they know that the return on these investments is very high. Bike On NZ believes NZ could learn a lot from these countries.
What is Bike On NZ's plan?
To fully evaluate the outcomes of their different projects and work to roll-out across NZ the most successful ones.
